Autumn scents

Slowly Autumn is creeping it's way into the much awaited Australian air. While the sun is still shining strongly, the autumn breeze is definitely sending a slight chill up your spine. As much as I love warm summer days, I cannot tell you how cheerful it made me that for the first in many long awaited nights, I have been able to sleep a lot more peacefully from not having to wake up  from the warm summer air. So on top of that I can finely (that is if the weather doesn't randomly decide to warm up again) start cozying up in warm wooly jumpers while sitting reading a book and sipping on  a nice warm cup of tea, with deliciously scented candles.

Glasshouse candles, are definitely one of my favourite candles here in Australia. They have a range of deliciously scented candles and to get me in the spirit I couldn't help myself, but to pick up the "little black dress" scented candle which I previously haven't seen before in their range. The scent of it makes me a little bit nostalgic as it reminds me a little bit of liquorice. One of my favourite lollies from back when I used to live in Hollands, so of course i couldn't help myself and I definitely had to get it.

Usually I'm not a bit fan of the ikea candles, but this particular candle that I bought reminds me of the  tea scent that you get from fruits of the forrest tea. Now this particular candle is quite sweet so I wouldn't burn it all day, but it does make your house smell deliciously like fruits and who doesn't like a fruity home?

What kind of candles do you like to buy??

Tea time

With the hot weather still being in full swing, I always find it nice to cool down with a hot beverage. Warming up my body so that the outdoors temperature doesn't seem to feel so hot anymore.
One of my favourite drinks I like to consume during the summer months has definitely have to be fresh mint tea. Just simply by just plucking some fresh mint leaves from the garden and pouring some hot water over it and letting it soak for about 5 minutes. Then depending on how strong the flavour is I tend to add a teaspoon of honey, and indulge in my yummy herbal beverage!

What kind of beverages do you like to drink during the summer?

Breakfasts

I never really been a big breakfast person, for me it was always just popping some toast in the toaster or warming up some rice porridge and that was enough for me.

However Lately I've been in quite a bit of a health funk and also now with having coeliac decease for little over five years now the options for gluten free food has finally started to broaden and become more edible (no offence). Although I've also experienced that by having a proper breakfast I've felt a lot fuller and energised through out the day, and wanting to snack less!

Finding the time to have a proper breakfast on days that I work or simply have to be somewhere early i've still been more inclined to just popping some toast in the toaster and grabbing a big bite. So on the days that I have off and have more time, I've started eating yoghurt with fruit and chai spice  for breakfast and mixing the fruit around so that It's not just the boring some thing everyday, and even one day went to my friends place (as we decided to go and make our own breakfast instead of going out for breakfast.) to make some french toast with some asparagus and a yummy potato and pea soup.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this little post

Let me know what you guys like for to make for breakfast!! :)

Bandwagon

Hey guys,

So I honestly can't believe it's been three weeks since my last blog post. The weeks just seem to have flown by.

Apart from losing track of time and on a little less exciting note, I have also started my new job this week as a receptionist. I must say there is a lot more to being a receptionist than answering the phone and booking appointments. The job is only temporary as I am filling in for someone going on leave, but at least i'll gain some experience and knowledge in the process.

Moving on from the boring part and onto something a little more exciting. Three weeks ago I posted my first ever youtube video. I had a lot of fun challenging myself with what to film and editing it and its definitely a new hobby of mine. While coming up with ideas on what to film is the most challenging part, its the end result and the work put into to the video that makes it all worth the while. Like wrote in my previous post, I am mainly doing this as a little side project for myself, become more comfortable with myself and gain that little bit of confidence that I am lacking in myself.

So far I have posted four different videos and although I have realised I am incredibly awkward and I definitely don't like anywhere close to my age I've decided that I am going to aim at filming a video each week and having it up by Thursday or Friday.

Check out my latest video or if you want to check out my other videos here

Until next time, xxx

25 facts about me

A couple of weeks ago in my new years resolutions post, I promised myself I would start blogging more. Well it is no surprise that I have already failed so far, with attempting to blog more often.

However, the year is still young and there are still 337 days to make up for my lack of blogging and of course improve on actually doing the things on my resolutions list.

Besides blogging I thought I might try something a little more out of my comfort zone. I've always felt a bit timid about looking younger and sounding younger than my age, however I thought a great way to build on that confidence was to try and start video blogging. I'm not the most talkative person, because I rather enjoy listening to others than speak myself, however i think for my doing this little video project on youtube is a great way to build on my self confidence and communication skills. Not going to lie talking to yourself in front of a camera, can be a little nerve wrecking and a bit awkward.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this video and that it gives you a little bit of an idea who I am :)

Until next time!!

2014 resolutions.

Out with the old and in with the new. A new year a new beginning, is something i'll be looking forward too. For a while now I've kept on telling myself that this is the year i'll finally start blogging properly, starting with my gap year back in 2012. However ever since then, two years on thats something i've definitely failed too do, So here i am 2014 still living and breathing making blogging one of my resolutions. I've been wanting to blog for a while now and this is the year i'll definitely do something about it with some motivation and aspiration!

With 2014 being a good week in, i've decided on a few simple new years resolutions that I hopefully can full fill.

To begin with, this year I hope to start off by blogging more often, I haven't really decided on what specifically, but i'll just let nature take its course and see where my brain and writing will take me.

Stress less: When it comes to work, everyday things and previously even school work I'm a bit of a perfectionist. I'm one of those people that once shown I want to get it right from the word go. High expectations are never good, and sometimes isn't even healthy. I'm one of those people that unfortunately need to get everything done as perfectly as possible otherwise I feel like I have failed my self in some way. However it'd not healthy to put so much pressure on yourself, and like most humans ( sometimes I question myself if i really am one) it's only human to make mistakes, there is no such thing as perfection.

Drinking more water and eating healthier is definitely something i need to add to my to do list. It's easy with out busy lifestyles to take time out for our selves and looking after our bodies. On top of that i'm not naturally a thirsty person and tend to sometimes forget to drink. Living in Australia hydrating is definitely a must do!

Last but not least Motivation.
I'm sure i'm not the only one in this boat, sometimes finding the motivation to do certain things without a groan can definitely be a task. So instead of telling myself i'll do this later or i'll do this in twenty minutes. I'll try to shrug off the little procrastination elf on my shoulder and tell myself to toughen up.

So three/four reasonable and in my eyes achievable resolutions.
Let me know what you guys are hoping to achieve this year!
